This is a great way to introduce vowel sounds while limiting the letter/sound correspondences, which is especially useful for English Language Learners and/or students with learning challenges. The additional fluency texts in particular allow for plenty of practice with the targeted skills. This series (like Moon Dogs 1 & 2) works well as a stand-alone intervention that is easy to use and understand. The characters and situations in the texts have truly provided engagement for my older (upper elementary) learners.
